Ah, Sangria, summer's reward. Find some shade under a tree and bring your icy glass of lush, sweet Sangria to celebrate warmth, sunlight, and barbecues.
We are going to share some summer Sangria recipes that thrill and delight.
For traditional Sangria, you will want to use a cheap red wine, Spanish perhaps, Pinot Noir, Garnacha (Grenache).
For light tropical or sweet peach Sangria, try a sweet white wine like Moscato.
Muddle the fruits by crushing with a large spoon in the pitcher, add the other ingredients and let sit in fridge a few hours to overnight1/2 apple (chopped into chunks with skin on)1/2 orange (chopped into chunks with peel on)3-4 T. brown sugar3/4 c. orange juice
1/3 c. brandy750 mL of red wine
1 c. Malibu rum
1 bottle sweet white wine
1/2 c. orange juice
3/4 c. pineapple juice
fruit - pineapple, kiwi, oranges, strawberries
simple syrup for sweetening
Let ingredients mesh together in the fridge and chill.
Some great combos with Sangria including fish such as tilapia or other white fish, shellfish, tortilla chips and salsa, grilled steak.
