If you want to extend the romance, distract the children, or enjoy a staycation, why not set up a glamping tent and leave it up. Fill it with pillows, a bed, string lights, a movie projector, toys, cots, depending on who will want to use it.
Imagine a night with a movie projector showing a movie on the wall while you curl up on a futon and pillows to enjoy a cozy atmosphere with battery-operated candles or string lights?
The tent could be used for summer nights when you want to just experience the outdoors without bugs. Maybe the kids drive you nuts all summer, so they can have friend sleepovers inside. If you have a backyard grill or firepit, maybe a telescope, an above-ground pool, you add to the atmosphere and fun.
The kids can enjoy a playhouse out of the rain, one that is actually attractive. Consider putting potted plants around it, string lights outside of it, maybe a horseshoes game set up for nighttime fun, a motion detector light for when they need to go inside and use the restroom.
