There are tons of rom coms out there that present the Cinderella theme. I'd love to see more about women reinventing themselves with confidence, but hey we do love our guy-saves-me themes. Here's some of my faves in this genre -
A Cinderella Tale
Christmas Kiss
A creative interior designer has a mean boss and is nearly invisible to her boss's wealthy boyfriend because he only saw her for a brief moment in an elevator where they shared a kiss, but she was in a disguise.
She's All That
A football player dares the popular football player to turn a school nerd into a princess for the dance. The awkward artist is transformed into a hottie.
Pretty Woman
A hooker's one night with a wealthy man becomes a rent-for-the-week proposition. He glams her up and parades her around as a companion. Only problem is, she now dreams of something more than she had before.
Pretty in Pink
Classic girl from one side of the tracks getting the attention of a wealthy boy and all the awkwardness that brings.
Working Girl
An ignored office worker has a chance for a better life and takes it by standing in as her boss with a client. She teams up with the boss's successful boyfriend and love blooms.
Ever After
A take on the actual Cinderella story of a neglected and abused girl being raised by a mean stepmom and stepsisters who think they can compete to win the prince's hand, only Cinderella gets his heart.
The Prince and Me
A prince poses as a student in an American college only to capture the heart of a girl attending there. They have to find a way to make their worlds work together.
Sixteen Candles
Being ignored on her 16th birthday, a girl daydreams about the All American wealthy guy in her school. Suffering many awkward moments, she does win him over in the end.
Ella Enchanted
In a classic with a twist, Ella is under a spell to be obedient. This is something she must hide from her stepfamily. Her goal is to protect her friend the prince while also falling in love with him.
I would suggest these be enjoyed with a tea tray and lots of happy sunlight. The other alternative is to turn yourself into a Cinderella, painting your nails and wearing a face mask.
